This manual-hydraulic drum rotator allows operators to ergonomically lift and decant drums of various sizes. The stainless-steel 304-grade construction is ideally suited to both food and pharmaceutical environments thanks to a smooth and clean vibro-polished finish.
In the base of the chassis, two manual-hydraulic 13cc hydraulic pumps supply the lifting ram with oil to raise the drum. These pumps are operated by pumping the handle at the rear of the unit. Designed to be ergonomic, the pumps require minimal force, adhering to manual handling guidelines.
Lowering the drum is achieved by turning a lowering lever counter-clockwise. For operations exceeding 10 drums per day, we advise considering our electric or pneumatic models as a powered alternative. These powered models further enhance efficiency and reduce physical fatigue if handling many drums per day.
Manual hydraulic pump
The STS universal drum band, equipped with this model, features an adjustable modular design suitable for a wide range of drum types and sizes. This innovative design ensures optimal contact with the drum, regardless of its size, providing a secure and safe fastening system. The adaptable band comfortably accommodates drums ranging from 13.78” (350mm) to 23.6” (600mm) in diameter, ensuring it can manage steel, plastic, and fiberboard materials effectively.
Universal drum band
When lifting and decanting from heavy drums, maintaining control of the drum is crucial for safety. In our analyses of older machinery in the field, we've identified a common issue: many use rotation mechanisms that fail to allow operators to safely control the load during rotation. This poses significant risks to operator safety.
At STS, safety is our top priority. We have developed a self-locking rotational gearbox arrangement that greatly enhances safety compared to traditional designs. The unique self-locking feature of our worm-wheel gearbox ensures that the drum remains stationary when the handle is released. Additionally, the 120:1 gearbox ratio makes manual turning easy, accommodating operators of various sizes and strength levels. This innovative design not only improves safety but also makes operation smoother and more controlled.
