Drum Lifter / Dispenser

Product Code: DTP08-350kg-R1260-DR

This manual-hydraulic drum lifter and dispenser is suitable for decanting drums at low levels. The unit is fitted with a manual band assembly which is works for 53-58 gallon barrels and drums. (120-220 liter). The manual crank handle allows the operator to rotate drums 360 degrees making it ideal for tipping from drum to drum or using a tap to dispense material.

Features

Sideways Rotation

The unit is fitted with a slew-ring gearbox assembly which allows drums to be rotated sideways. The operator uses a long stainless steel crank handle to rotate the gearbox and therefore the drum. The advantage of this model over our other drum tippers is the smaller footprint and counterbalanced design.

The slew-ring gearbox assembly is very robust and hard-wearing. The force required to turn the rotation crank handle is very low due to the high ratio of the slew-ring gearbox. When the operator is not rotating the gearbox with the crank handle the drum remains mechanically locked in place.

Chemical-resistant wheels

We use high-quality elasticated rubber wheels with precision bearings: these offer premium wheel performance in harsh environments. To get the most out of this unit we recommend using it on smooth surfaces. The unit is fitted with rear-wheel tiller steering which provides a tight-turning circle. This is useful if you’re using the drum handler in confined areas.

Drum rotator (DR) attachment

The drum lifter dispenser is designed for decanting 31-55 gallon (120-220 liters) steel, plastic and fiberboard drums. The unit is fitted with a contoured band which has rubber blocks fitted to remove any risk of drum slippage. The operator secures the drum in place using a dual ratchet and strap arrangement.

We can offer units for tipping at various heights with lift strokes of 19.7” (500mm), 30” (760mm) and 49.6” (1260mm) depending upon your needs. We recommend our range of Universal Drum Tippers if lifting and rotating drums into large vessels or where tipping reach is required.

Manual Hydraulic Pump

Each hydraulic pump is manufactured by hand in the UK. Quality components are used making the pumps extremely reliable and long-lasting. On a stainless steel drum lifter, the pump assembly is shrouded in stainless steel, this protects it from water ingress and other debris found in the work environment. The pump is operated by hand by pulling an upright lever back and forth. The operation of the pump is easy and the force required to lift a drum is low; this means the drum lifter can be used by all staff with ease. Drums can be lowered back down in a controlled manner by turning a manual control valve.

The Stainless Steel Drum Lifter can be used to handle a wide variety of drum types and sizes. For details of the different drums this product is compatible with please review the below specification document. If the drums you handle within your plant are not shown please contact us and we will endeavour to provide feedback on their compatibility.

Optional Features

EX (ATEX)

ATEX / UKEX version of this model, suitable for use in zone 1, 2, 21 and 22 environments. We ensure electrical continuity throughout the machine with a path to 'ground' always being present. Each piece of ATEX equipment is supplied with a manufacturer’s Declaration of Conformity showing compliance with the directives and relevant British and ISO Standards.

Electric Lift

Electric lift with manual movement, making it ideal for mid to high volume drum handling across a wide range of industrial workspaces. Combining an electric-hydraulic lift system with manual drive, it removes the most physically demanding aspect of drum handling

Stainless Steel Model

We offer 304-grade stainless steel drum lifters, suitable for clean rooms as well as good manufacturing practice (GMP) areas.

Pneumatic Powered Lift

An air line connection powers a pneumatic hydraulic pump, which supplies oil to the lift system. The system is very robust and requires minimal maintenance keeping operating costs down. (DR01)
