The 17cc aluminum pump supplies oil to a lifting ram in the center of the unit. The system raises the gas bottle when the rear tiller handle is pumped back and forth. A hand-operated lowering lever/valve is mounted on the top of the lifter body. The lowering lever provides precise control when lowering a gas bottle onto the floor. All hydraulic circuits are assembled by hand in the UK factory to ensure that each system is clean and provides long-term reliability.

The unit features a rubber support pad that suits gas bottles with diameters ranging from 7.08” - 17.71” (180mm to 450mm). The operator secures the cylinder in place against the V-pad using a ratchet and strap mechanism before lifting and maneuvering it into position. The rubber pads provide additional grip between the cylinder and support pad, ensuring the load is held securely throughout the handling operation. To detach the cylinder, the ratchet mechanism is released by pulling the ratchet lever and rotating the handle forward.

The rear swivel castors make moving and positioning the cylinder lifter easy for operators of all sizes. The pump handle acts as a tiller, allowing the lifter to be rotated and turned with a minimal amount of effort.

The low rolling resistance on smooth, flat floors reduces operator fatigue and ensures cylinder lifting and moving operations are safe and ergonomic.

We offer a version that is suitable for use in Zone 1, 2, 21, and 22 environments. The ATEX model is fitted with anti-static polyurethane tires, earthing chains and anti-static guarding. The 'Ex' model is assembled and checked by our team of engineers to ensure that all components are earthed to one another - electrical continuity exists between all components to 'ground'.

Weighing cylinders with an STS lifter eliminates the need to transport and place them on separate floor scales, thereby reducing the time and effort required to complete the task. The battery-powered scales are rechargeable and include features such as 'zero' and 'tare'.

If you need to handle a large quantity of cylinders each day, you may want to consider our electric lift upgrade. The battery-powered system allows operators to move more cylinders per hour by eliminating the need to pump the manual lift handle. The push-button lift controls are simple and easy to use, and enhance productivity. The onboard batteries have plenty of power, allowing hundreds of drum movements per charge. To charge the lifter, simply connect the mains-powered battery charger to the unit.
