Drums can vary in height depending on their size. This means it is important to choose a drum lifter that can accept not only the drums you use today but also the drums you may need to handle in the future. With our unique quick-change rack, you can adjust the position of the drum catch to accommodate drums of different heights. Our side-shift function is unique: fourteen precision bearings allow you to smoothly slide the central lifter left and right making accessing the whole pallet simple and easy. Once the central lifter is locked in place, you can move the drum handler over the pallet to pick up the drum. When lowering a drum to the floor, the side-shift function provides precise control and helps to reduce placement gaps between drums.

The side-shift drum mover is designed for effortless mobility and precision. The standard model features polyurethane tires mounted on durable aluminum hubs. For environments requiring enhanced safety, the ATEX model is equipped with tires made from an anti-static compound. Each wheel has two precision bearings within the hub, ensuring low rolling resistance. This makes the unit exceptionally easy to maneuver, even when handling fully loaded drums weighing up to 771 lbs. To maximize the performance and longevity of your side-shift drum mover, we recommend operating it on smooth, flat surfaces.

ATEX certified for gas and dust zones

We provide a fully certified 'Ex' rated drum lifter for use in flammable and explosive areas. These models utilize anti-static and conductive components to ensure safety and conformity. We also ensure full electrical continuity throughout the machine to dissipate static charges should they occur. Our ATEX Counterbalanced Drum Lifter is suitable for use in classified zones 1, 2, 21, and 22.

'Ex' Rated model

Clean and Hygienic, we offer a 304-grade stainless-steel version of this lifter, specifically engineered for use in clean manufacturing environments. Renowned for its excellent corrosion resistance and durability, 304-grade stainless steel is ideal for industries such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, and chemical production. These versions of our Side-Shift Drum Mover feature nickel/chrome-plated hydraulic rams for protection against corrosion. The aluminium hydraulic pump is encased in stainless steel and protected by a PVC gaiter to prevent dirt and debris ingress.

We can supply this model with a taller lifter body and hydraulic ram assembly. This allows operators to load and unload drums at greater heights making the unit more versatile. A typical use case would be placing drums onto high spill containment pallets or elevated platforms and conveyors.

We offer three different straddle options to accommodate various pallet sizes: 33.4” (850mm), 41.3” (1050mm), and 49.2 (1250mm). These alternative widths ensure that our drum lifter can efficiently approach different pallet configurations, providing flexibility to meet the specific needs of your operations. Whether you're working with smaller or larger pallets we can configure this model to suit.

Our integrated weighing system has an accuracy of +/- 3.5oz. (0.1kg). This system streamlines operations by weighing drums whilst lifting them, eliminating the need for separate floor scales. This system improves efficiency and helps operators identify over- or under-filled drums early, ensuring smoother workflows and enhanced quality control.

We can offer this drum lifter with an electric-hydraulic lift system, designed to make the lifting of heavy drums effortless. The electric system further reduces the physical effort required to move drums. This feature is especially valuable for high-frequency drum handling operations, where enhancing productivity is crucial.
