Quick and easy drum loading/unloading

All of our STS drum lifters have been designed to easily load and unload the ATEX end-over-end drum tumbler. If you have a forklift drum attachment, this can also be used provided it fits within the mixer cage. The base plate of the mixer head is 12.99” (330mm) from the ground, and therefore, it is important to ensure that any lifting equipment has sufficient lift height and is safe and ergonomic to use.

<60 Second Loading Time

You can secure 55 gallon into the drum mixer head using the high-quality screw-top clamping bar. The adjustable clamping bar allows you to clamp drums of 33.8”-39.7” (860-1010mm) height effectively. Once secured, close the gates, and you can begin mixing safely.

Reliable electric ATEX control interface

We have worked with ATEX electrical experts to design and manufacture the latest generation of ATEX drum mixers. This model makes use of an 'Ex d' control box enclosure, which houses all the necessary components to power the mixer. The box is 'Ex' rated for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 (gas and dust).

The control box includes the following features: isolator switch, start/stop buttons, docking button (returns drum to vertical), rotation speed control, power light, disabled light, rotation light, and emergency stop button.

230V or 120V

In compliance with the Machinery Directive, our drum mixers feature a full guarding arrangement as standard. The guarding surrounds the unit and prevents access to the drum during mixing. Guarding is a mandatory requirement for OSHA, CE, and EU and should never be overlooked when sourcing a drum mixing machine.

Safety relay circuit and gate interlocks

Safety is our number one priority; as such, this model features safety gate interlocks - only once the gates have been closed can you activate the mixing function. To protect you and your operators, should the gates be opened during a mix cycle, the unit will stop mixing immediately. Our electrical team install a safety relay circuit to ensure that the system always defaults to a safe condition.

Available in multiple Power Supply Options

Our standard securing arrangement can handle steel, plastic and fiberboard drums with heights from 33.8”-39.7” (860-1010mm). If you need to handle different drum sizes, we offer an optional small-drum adapter (see below). Alternatively, get in touch and we can advise you on the best solution for your particular process.

Adapter for mixing smaller drum sizes

We can offer an adjustable adapter to fit drums from 3.9”-33.8” (860-1010mm) in height into the drum mixer. You can set the adapter to different drum heights and diameters by simply moving the placement of two quick-release pins. If you need a custom mixer for unusual drums, we can modify this unit to suit your exact needs - we often make mixers for handling plastic jerrycans and other smaller containers.

Stainless-steel model for clean environments

We offer a 304-grade stainless steel version of this model, ideal for use in food, chemical and pharmaceutical environments where corrosion resistance and cleanroom compatibility are essential. This version features a brushed, polished finish with a combination of stainless steel sheet and polycarbonate guarding. The gearbox and motor assembly, constructed from steel and aluminium, are fully enclosed within a protective shroud.

We can offer custom-designed head assemblies, designed to allow batch mixing of smaller containers commonly found in industrial environments. The example shows eight plastic jerrycans in a mixer head, however, this is just one option available. We can provide head assemblies for jerrycans, small drums, carboys, paint tins, etc.
