Horizontal Small Drum Mixer
Small plastic drums and kegs are used to store many different goods, some of which require mixing. Our horizontal drum mixer has been designed with ergonomics and simplicity in mind. An operator manually loads drums into the cabinet before closing the doors - upon closing the doors the electrical circuits are powered up. The fully-compliant electrical system allows for the mixing of drums at speeds from 4 to 20 RPM.
Mixing of four drums at once
Using a belt-drive system, four drums can be loaded onto the rollers and mixed simultaneously. Companies operating a batch production system can benefit from the ability to mix multiple drums at once.
Mixer control system
An electric interface provides operators with precise control over the speed of the drum rollers; the panel includes a mix timer, variable RPM controller and LED-light indicators. The ATEX model omits a mix timer but includes all the other functionality shown.
Ergonomic drum loading
The design of the small barrel mixer is such that loading drums are safe and easy. Simply place a drum on the edge of the frame, then push it back onto the rollers. It is important that correct manual handling practices are used when loading and unloading the mixer, operators should keep drums close to the body to reduce the effort required.
Fully compliant safety guarding
In compliance with the Machinery Directive, we manufacture our drum mixers with a full guarding arrangement as standard. The guarding prevents access to the rollers during mixing whilst still allowing a view of the drums.
Safety gate interlock
Safety and compliance are key priorities for all companies. This model utilises a safety gate interlock, this prevents operators from being able to rotate the jerrycans with the gates of the mixer open. The correct way to stop the mixer while it is running is by pressing the 'stop' button on the control panel. The safety gate interlock stops the jerrycans from rotating should the gates be opened during a mix cycle.
Factory configurable for different drums
The drum mixer model shown is suitable for mixing 1.3 gallons (5-liter) screw-top plastic drums. Upon order, we can configure this product for drum sizes of .95 gallon (3.6-liter) up to 3.96 gallon (15-liter) (up to 13.7” (350mm) in height and diameter). The drum rollers are set in the UK factory to match your company's particular drum size.
